Another exhausting 8pm CrossFit class.  Wow. I thought Monday was pushing myself, but tonight I really went to another level mentally.  It was kind of exciting.

First I hit several Power Snatches in the “sweet spot”.  That moment when your technique is flawless and you’re power driving from the hips and the barbell just floats up over your head.  Ah! That’s how it’s supposed to be done!  I loved it!! Now I just need to keep working on that so I can do it each & every time.

The other thing tonight was really pushing mentally.  That was the point of Monday’s WOD, so I carried that over into tonight.  Even the coach said he could tell I pushed to another level tonight. Yay!

What did I learn on Monday? I learned that “mind tricks the body, body thinks the mind is crazy”.  LOL, sorry, that song was in my head - old school hip-hop pops in during moments of intensity.  For reals yo, what I mean is that your body tells your mind: “mind, please stop! this body can’t do no mo’!” and your mind tells your body “shut up & just do it!”.  That’s the level you push through and you realize your body CAN do more, it’s just your mind tricking you into thinking you can’t do it.

Anyway, that was my epiphany on Monday night and tonight.  So tonight’s WOD was:

  • 4 sets of:
  • 3 dead hangs
  • max effort kipping pull-ups

WOD:  ”Hope” Prep

(I was excited because I will be doing this for donations at my box on June 23rd but of course that will be 3 rounds and higher weights)

  • 1 round
  • 1 minute at each station of:
  • Burpees ——————————- 18
  • Power Snatch (25lbs)————- 12
  • Box Jumps (20 inches)———— 14
  • Thrusters (25lbs)——————- 10
  • Chest to bar pull-ups————-  9
